Acupressure Points for Constipation – Closed Caption Friendly (Massage Monday #570)

One of my most viewed videos is Acupressure Points for Constipation from 2013. I am getting lots of thank you’s because they worked for many people. But I sometimes also get complaints that they cannot see the acupressure points because the Closed Captioning is covering what I’m showing down here.

The Closed Captioning on your screen is something that you have the total power to control by turning on or off by clicking on the CC button but I figured some people want to keep the closed captioning on to see what I’m saying because English is my second language.

So here are the same acupressure points for constipation that you can see even with the Closed Captioning.

There are three points that I recommend but if you are pregnant, don’t do the first one called Large Intestine 4 on your hand because this is a point to induce labor. You do not want to press this until after the due date. You can press the other two. I also have another video showing the acupressure points for constipation for pregnant ladies.

The first one is on the hand. Close the thumb and index finger and it’s at the end of the crease. This is called Large Intestine 4. Press it towards the base of the index finger with a hooked thumb. Hooked thumb is a thumb bent at the first joint. This is makes it more stable and easier to press. You will feel a dull pain. Hold it for one minute as you breathe deeply. Repeat on the other side.

The next one is on the elbow. Bend your elbow and it’s at the end of the crease on the outside. This is called Large Intestine 11. Press it perpendicularly with your hooked thumb as you breathe deeply. Repeat on the other side. Once you know where they are, you can press both at the same time with your middle fingers.

The last one is in the wrist crease. Draw a line between the pinky and ring finger towards the wrist and there’s a dip inside the big tendon. Gently stroke upward ten times. If you don’t feel anything happening then gradually increase the intensity and the number of strokes. This point is called Heart 7 and it’s often used for emotional issues such as nervousness and anxiety but for constipation purpose, just use it on the left hand side.

I hope this is helpful.
